The Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) on September 3, 2025, issued an office order to rationalize the compliance requirements for controlling dust pollution from construction and demolition activities. The decision was made to address the significant contribution of these projects to ambient air particulate matter (PM) levels and to streamline the reporting process for project proponents.
The DPCC, in collaboration with other agencies, monitors dust control measures through a dedicated Dust Portal. The circular notes that after discussions in various forums, a need was identified to reduce the number of compliances to focus on the most critical issues. Consequently, the total number of self-assessment and fortnightly reporting compliances has been reduced from 27 to just 12.
The simplified list of compliances will be updated on the Dust Portal, allowing project proponents to continue self-assessing and uploading their reports on a fortnightly basis. This change aims to make the reporting process more efficient and effective for all involved parties, while still ensuring remote monitoring of dust control measures through technologies like video fencing and low-cost PM sensors.
